Taiwanese activists protest after Japanese man kicks statue of comfort woman

11.09.18 / Human rights activists in Taiwan have protested after a Japanese man kicked the statue of a comfort woman.

Around 100 people protested outside Japan’s embassy in Taipei yesterday to ask that Mitsuhiko Fujii, a member of a Japanese right wing group, be barred from leaving the country till he apologises for kicking the memorial statue of a comfort woman, the term given to women and girls who were forced into prostitution during World War II.
