12.03.19 / A database has been discovered in China that lists 1.8 million women by something called their “BreedReady” status.
The database contains personal details including addresses, age, education, marital status, and an apparent scoring system in a column labelled “BreedReady” such as “1” for an 18-year-old, and “0” for a 95-year-old woman.
The information was found by Dutch internet expert Victor Gevers who works for GDI.Foundation, a non-profit that detects and discloses security issues and criminal activity on the internet. It’s not known whether the database belongs to the government and is related to its family planning strategy, to a dating app or to another organisation.
