Dominican Republic busts sex trafficking ring
02.10.19 / Dozens of women from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Haiti have been rescued from forced sex work as the police carried simultaneous raids in bars and night clubs across the Dominican Republic.
In this year’s biggest anti-trafficking operation, the authorities arrested ten suspected traffickers and closed down four businesses.
Under the country’s anti-human trafficking law, convicted traffickers can receive prison sentences of up to 20 years.
