Sanna Marin to become world’s youngest PM
10.12.19 / Finland’s Sanna Marin will take office this week and become the world’s youngest sitting prime minister at age 34.
Formerly Finland’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Marin entered politics aged just 27, and became an MP in 2015, age 30. She will be the third woman to lead the country.
As prime minister, Marin would maintain an alliance between her party, the Social Democrats, and four other center-left parties — all of which have women in leading ministerial positions. Among the five leaders, four, including Marin, are under 35.
