On this day in 2021, Beyoncé broke the record at the 63rd Grammy Awards for most Grammys ever won by a female artist. She received four awards, becoming the most-awarded woman in the show’s history with a total of 28 awards. Two years later, she would break the record for the most Grammy wins in history, with a total of 32 awards.

In 2018, Angela Merkel was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany for the fourth time. Nicknamed ‘Mutti’ (‘Mother’), she retired in December 2021.
